Quality results of transparent originals scanning are so high that I think you can barely tell a Perfection 4870 performance against the performance of a professional slide scanner. In particular, this concerns medium and large formats scans. Thus, the price for Perfection 4870 is much lower than you will have to pay for any medium format slide scanner. It is hoped that the next EPSON top model will replace the traditional mercury lamp, significantly slowing down the scanning process with the lamp with zero warm-up time. However, if I were asked to give marks for scanner, then i would give only ‘A’ in all categories. Definitely, EPSON Perfection 4870 is our choice, and my words once again prove the results of testing. In general I stronly recommend this product!
